Accessibility Statement
Kids First Pediatrics on 30 is committed to digital accessibility. We designed this website to align with WCAG 2.2 Level AA so every family — including users of assistive technology — can find information, reach our team, and get care.
Our Commitment
Kids First Pediatrics on 30 is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities, in accordance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Our website is built to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the de facto technical standard for ADA web compliance — and we also incorporate applicable WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria where practical.
This same standard is referenced by the 2024 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Section 504 rule for healthcare providers receiving federal financial assistance.
We test regularly using keyboard-only navigation, screen readers (VoiceOver and NVDA), 200% browser zoom, and automated accessibility tools. Where we discover gaps, we fix them promptly.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML landmarks (
header, nav, main, footer) and a single H1 on every page so screen-reader users can navigate by structure. - A "Skip to main content" link as the first keyboard stop on every page.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element, with scroll-offset so sticky headers never hide focused items.
- Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers so they do not clutter the reading experience.
- Accessible names and roles on custom controls: provider cards, service cards, carousel slides, mobile menu, and language switcher all expose state to assistive technology.
- Image carousels can be paused and respect the prefers-reduced-motion system setting.
- Touch targets meet WCAG 2.2 Target Size Minimum guidance (at least 24 × 24 CSS pixels).
- Color contrast is designed to meet WCAG AA minimums for text and non-text UI components.
- Full English and Spanish language support with proper
langattribute updates when you switch languages.
Linked External Services
When you use our Family Portal for scheduling, records, or billing, you are taken to a service operated by a separate company. We do not control the accessibility of that platform, but we will always provide an equivalent phone, fax, or in-person alternative so you are never required to use it.
- Family Portal (portal.letsdevelo.com) — external patient portal for scheduling, records, and secure messaging. Operated by Develo.
- External informational links — we link out to authoritative pediatric resources such as AAP Bright Futures, CDC vaccine information, and HealthyChildren.org. The accessibility of those pages is maintained by the respective publishers; contact us if you cannot read any resource we link to and we will summarize the content for you directly.
